Lake Park Pumpkin Fest Offering Pumpkin-Themed Fun for All
Lake Park, MN — Get ready for a Pumpkin-filled weekend! The annual Lake Park Pumpkin Fest gets underway this week with a variety of pumpkin and fall themed events and activities for the whole family. The fun gets underway this Thursday with the Little Miss Pumpkin Fest Pageant at the LPA High School Theatre and continues Friday with the Homecoming Football game. Terri Nelson of the Pumpkin Fest Committee says Friday is also when the judging occurs for the pumpkin, scarecrow, and yard decorating contests.
The list for Saturday’s events is a mile long, but there are a few changes this year specifically regarding the recently demolished American Legion building, which typically houses several events at Pumpkin Fest. Nelson says that hasn’t stopped the Legion from still hosting their usual harvest breakfast.
The two biggest draws for Pumpkin Fest this Saturday will undoubtedly be the Craft and Vendor Show at the High School and Classic Car Show downtown. Nelson says many people come for both and there will be a shuttle to get people to and from.
Some of the other events include the Garden Club’s Plant and Vegetable Sale, 5K run, pumpkin playground, tractor display, wagon rides, corn maze, ninja course, parade, pumpkin cleaning and carving contest, fireman’s brat feed and more.
