Learning about ricing

MAHNOMEN, MN–Students in Mahnomen have been learning about wild rice harvesting this week.  Mahnomen Activities Director Aimee Pederson says a field trip was part of that learning.

Pederson says students will also hear from community members about ricing.

Pederson says Mahnomen’s Indian Education program has played a big part in this week’s lessons on ricing.  The Indian Education program seeks to meet the needs and interests of the native youth and families by providing enrichment opportunities to students of all ages and their families.
