Leiting vs Fertile Update

R&J News has found new information about the legal case involving former Fair Meadow Nursing Home administrator Angie Leiting against the City of Fertile.  Angie Leiting’s attorneys have asked Polk County Judge Jeffrey Remick for a summary judgment in her lawsuit against the City.  That summary judgment would have Fertile Mayor Dan Wilkens and City Council members Matthew Massman, Mary Kiefert, Amanda Bosman and Todd Wise all removed from office.  The summary judgment Leiting is asking for would also have Wilkens and the four City Council members fined for violations of Minnesota’s open meeting law…and they would have to pay those fines from their own pockets, rather than have the City of Fertile pay the fines.  R&J News is reviewing all the legal documents in this case and we’ll keep you updated throughout the day with any additional information.  Judge Remick is scheduled to hear the case February 23.
