Local organizations, schools awarded quarterly grants from Northland Foundation

(Northern MN) — The Northland Foundation announced 37 grants and 35 special grants were awarded to nonprofit organizations, schools, small businesses, and Native nations during the first quarter of 2022.

Long Lake Conservation Center in Palisade received $1,500 from the Individual and Community Wellbeing grant to support an evening of traditional Ojibwe storytelling.

McGregor KIDS PLUS/Something Cool, Inc received $15,000 to provide chore services for older adults and intergenerational workforce training sexperiences for youth entering high school from the Integrated Rural Community Aging – AGE to age Implementation grant.

From the COVID-19 Relief & Recovery grant numerous schools received funds including McGregor Schools ISD #4 receiving $7,500 and Aitkin Public Schools receiving $10,000.

All quarterly grants awarded January 1-March 31, 2022, totaling $445,239 from the Northland Foundation, serving Northeastern Minnesota and five Tribal nations’ shared geography.
