Log Cabin Museum Turning 25
ADA, MN—Next week, the Log Cabin Museum near the Norman County Fairgrounds will celebrate its 25th anniversary. Solveig Kitchell, the curator of the Norman County Historical and Genealogy Society, talks about the museum’s beginnings.
Kitchell says the Log Cabin Museum wanted to keep items that were salvaged from Ada’s museums following the 1997 floods. But that didn’t work out.
Next Wednesday, July 16, the Log Cabin Museum will celebrate its 25th anniversary with live music on the lawn performed by Monica Winter, Tanya Kemper and Kurt Vandermeer from 2 until 5pm. It’s recommended that you bring your own lawn chair. Then from 5 until 7pm, there will be a hot dish meal–with five different varieties of hot dish. The meal is free will offering with proceeds to help finance the Norman County Historical Society’s new building.
