Mahnomen City Council News & Notes from February 21st Meeting
Mahnomen, MN — The Mahnomen City Council held their 2nd regular monthly meeting for February this past Tuesday, February 21st at the Mahnomen Fire Hall. At the meeting, they approved a number of pay requests and change orders for some of their past and current projects and received an update on the upcoming water treatment project as well, according to Mahnomen City Administrator Taylor Vonderharr.
Vonderharr and other community leaders recently spent some time lobbying at the state capitol. She says they are hoping legislators will invest in their hospital project and increase their local government aid.
Also the City of Mahnomen and Mahnomen County had teamed up to participate in the PCs for People Program with up to 50 free computers to giveaway. That distribution was planned for this week but was pushed back due to the weather, but that means they are still opportunities for residents to participate, according to Vodnerharr.
The Mahnomen City Council also approved an agreement to participate in the Mahnomen County Dust Control Program. The next council meeting is set for Monday, March 6th.
