Mahnomen County Highway Engineer Previews Summer Construction Projects
Mahnomen, MN — Signs of spring are on the horizon but shortly after that we enter Minnesota’s 5th season, Road Construction Season! Earlier this week on the KRJB Kaleidoscope Program, Mahnomen County Highway Engineer Jon Large previewed some of the road projects that they plan on undertaking in Mahnomen County this summer.
Large is a bit anxious for the bid prices to come back. With fuel and oil prices hitting record highs, workforce in high demand, and short supplies he is fearful they may have to scale back some of their future projects if they come in too high.
In 2023, the Mahnomen County Highway Department is planning to conduct a mill and overlay on County State Aid Highway 1 west of Bejou, replace a box culvert on CSAH 1 east of Bejou, and replace a box culvert on County Road 106 southwest of Mahnomen over Spring Creek.
