Mahnomen County Looking to Update Airport Master Plan
Mahnomen, MN — Continuing on the progress that’s been made in recent years, Mahnomen County is looking to build upon the recent improvements at the Mahnomen Airport. During a recent visit on the KRJB Kaleidoscope Program, Mahnomen County Administrator CJ Holl shared that they are in the beginning phases of updating their Airport Master Plan, which will develop goals and plans for the next couple of decades.
Holl adds that the Mahnomen Airport is sort of a hidden key component for the community, and it gets much more use than most people probably realize.
The Mahnomen County Airport is located 4 miles south of the city of Mahnomen. It features two runways, a 3,400-foot paved runway and a 2,700 turf runway. Recent upgrades include a new arrival and departure building and new runway lighting.
