Man Sentenced in Pembina County Human Smuggling Case
A Mexican national has been sentenced to 18 months in prison for a human smuggling operation that had occurred in Pembina County North Dakota. Authorities say that the smuggler Rodolfo Arzola-Carrillo partially carried out the smuggling of seven undocumented Mexican immigrants from Mexico to the United States through the Canadian border that borders Pembina County.
According to the affidavit the Pembina County Sheriff’s office had received a call from a Ernest Falcon Jr saying that his van had gotten stuck at an intersection near Co. Rd. 55 and 138th Ave. in Pembina County outside of Neche, ND. The Pembina County Deputy who responded to the call found nine total people stranded including Arzola-Carrilo, and Falcon.
Ronaldo Arzola-Carrillo was sentenced to 18 months in prison with a one year supervised release. His co defendant Ernest Falcon Jr is set to be sentenced on August 21, 2023.
