MCAC April 7-13 Player of the week – Voyageurs Gutierrez Wins Thanks to Two Homeruns

The Minnesota College Athletic Conference (MCAC) has released its softball weekly awards for the week of April 7-13. Anitza Gutierrez, shortstop for Minnesota North College – Rainy River, earned this week’s MCAC North Division Softball Position Player of the Week award. Gutierrez hit .692, going 9 for 13 from the plate. She had a double and two inside-the-park home runs. Gutierrez drove in nine runs, scored nine runs, walked four times, and stole 10 bases.

The Voyageurs softball team will be on the diamond Wednesday, 4/16 against Central Lakes for a conference doubleheader beginning at 1pm. The Voyageurs Baseball team will also visit the diamond tomorrow against Central Lakes. They’ll be on the road to face their conference opponent in a doubleheader with a first pitch set for 1pm.
