(McGregor, MN) — The McGregor School Board heard several presentations and renewed several annual policies and contracts during their regular meeting from the High School Auditorium on Monday, July 25th.

Nate Jackson spoke to the Board about the grim outlook of insurance providers covering schools.

Jackson also noted cyber attacks are much more frequent than in years past.

Brody Simonson presented on E-Cigarettes and how high school students are becoming frequent users with their harmful contents.

Todd Richter from Nexus gave an update on the School construction saying the will be on time to finish the work despite procurement issues.

Nexus will continue to send daily updates to the Facilities Committee until the project is complete, as they state the project will finish before the start of school. 

The McGregor School Board approved annual contracts and policies including Work Session and Board meetings schedule, official school publication, school medical center, school attorney, and substitute rate of pay. Approval was also given for donations totalling $10,296 from the McGregor Lions Club and McGregor Fire Relief for Youth Baseball, Big Sandy Water Institute, Cheerleading, and the Seussical Play.

The Hiring of Natalie Henry, Tracy Wilkie, and Ryder Lough as Paraprofessionals, Deborah Yotter in the Food Services Department, Sarah Knellinger as Early Childhood Assistant, and activity prices for 2022-2023 school year were approved.

Approval was also given to release funds in the amount of $1,617.95 to the McGregor All School Reunion and the 2022-2023 resolution for membership in the Minnesota State High School League.

The McGregor School Board is next scheduled to meet for a Work Session on Monday, August 8th at 6pm.
