Missoula Children’s Theatre Presents Johnny Appleseed
Ada, MN — The Missoula Children’s Theatre in conjunction with the Ada Summer Children’s Theatre will be presenting their musical production of Johnny Appleseed today at the Ada-Borup-West High School Auditorium. The directors, Emily Horn and Nick Winkler from Missoula Children’s Theatre, joined the KRJB Kaleidoscope Thursday to preview the production. They note that the touring theatre company has been traveling across the globe over the past five decades providing top notch acting, dancing, and singing experience to youth.
Their production of Johnny Appleseed is loosely based on the story of the real-life character with a number of made-up characters, but the directors add that it does provide opportunities to educate the cast about who the real folk hero is.
The Missoula Children’s Theatre crew have to put the show together in a very efficient manner. Auditions are held on Monday and by Thursday they are already conducting dress rehearsals and the show goes on Friday whether they are ready or not. But according to Nick and Emily, the cast and crew have been working their tails off and will be ready to go come today’s performances.
Performances are at 2:30pm and 7pm at the Ada-Borup-West Auditorium. The cost is $3 for adults, $2 for students, and preschool and under are free.
