St. Paul, MN — The Minnesota Legislature overwhelmingly approved a pair of bipartisan pieces of legislation last week, one showing their support for a fellow lawmaker, and one removing their support of tyrannous county. District 4B Representative Paul Marquart says the House on Thursday unanimously approved a bill that would direct the State Board of Investment to divest that state’s investments from Russia.

The divided House and Senate also showed a sign of unity and support for Senator David Tomassoni, who last year was diagnosed with ALS, by passing a bill that devote $25 million towards ALS research. Representative Marquart says there was a lot of emotional testimony on the bill and the effects of ALS.

A companion bill was also passed in the Senate and it’s expected that Governor Walz will sign it into law.
