Moorhead Drug Arrest
MOORHEAD, MN—He’s been called the biggest fentanyl dealer in the Fargo-Moorhead area. That according to court documents about the arrest of a Moorhead man. 43-year-old Matthew Schaan of Moorhead was charged in Clay County District Court with eight felony counts after he was arrested Monday. According to a criminal complaint, law enforcement has been investigating Schaan going back to last December, when he was found in possession of suspected meth and fentanyl. The investigation picked up last month after an anonymous tip identifying a drug dealer matching Schaan’s description working out of a Moorhead apartment complex. Last week, an informant told law enforcement Schaan was, quote “probably the biggest fentanyl dealer in Fargo/Moorhead.” When investigators served a search warrant at Schaan’s apartment on Monday, they found 115 grams of suspected meth, 37 grams of suspected fentanyl, a stolen 9 millimeter handgun, a bulletproof vest and over $7000 in cash. The stolen handgun was traced back to Fargo. Schaan is being held in the Clay County Jail pending further proceedings.
