Muskies prepare for NWOSSAA, Broncos prepare for Sections
The Bronco Cross Country team hosted one final race of the 2024-2025 season before their Sections where the Muskies of Fort Frances had also come to compete alongside other teams like Chisholm and Warroad. After the girls race I got to speak to some of the Muskie runners.
The two Muskies were asked how they were feeling after the race.
I then asked them what made this race different from previous ones.
The Muskies Cross Country team will now be looking ahead to the NorWOSSAA meet happening next week, and Logan and Paisley were asked what they are expecting at that race.
So, with the season so close to an end what were their biggest improvements?
Logan and Paisley are also multi-sport athletes at Fort Frances.
Paisley Riches finished the race in 12th with a time of 22:52.20, Logan would finish 18th with a 23:57.40, and would be followed by Abby Waldner (23rd), Harper Gunderson (30th), Briane and Brook Haver (32nd & 33rd), and Sami Hillier (37th).
From the Muskie Boys team, they were led by Andrew Booth who placed 17th with a 19:46.10, and Chase Sinclair who placed 27th with a 20:58.20. They were followed by Ben Gosman (29th), Zander McCormick (32nd), Aiden McTavish (40th), and Mark Fitzgerald (45th).
I then talked to the three Bronco Girl runners who had made All-Conference weeks ago at the IRC.
The three girls were asked how they were feeling after that race at home.
Then, they were asked about the feeling to be All-Conference after having a week to bask in it.
Domitrovich is only in 7th and she’s already making All-Conference and winning $100 for it. The Broncos are gonna now be preparing for the Sectionals that’s next week, so how have they improved this season?
The girls were asked what their goals are after for Sections.
As the resident Canadian racing for the Broncos, Julia Dykstra was asked how it felt to race against other Canadians with the Muskies there.
Lola Hall led the Broncos placing 5th with a 21:05.30, Julia Dykstra placed 10th with a 22:33.50, and Braelyn Domitrovich placed 16th with a 23:53.90. Another notable Bronco was Bella Amerud who placed 13th with a 22:54.20, and Ellie Kooistra placed 19th, Anaya Fultz placed 27th, Grace Weisz placed 31st, Abbie Sather and Emma Abbernathy placed 35th & 36th, and Mariah Hostetter placed 40th.
The Boys team was led by Brendyn Scholler who placed 7th with a 18:38.30, and Camden Deedrick who placed 11th with a 19:17.60.
