NCHGS Aalgaard Photo Project Now Complete
Ada, MN — The Norman County Historical and Genealogical Society recently wrapped up a five-year project of scanning and indexing thousands of photos, many from 20s, 30s, 40s, and 50s, from the Aalgaard Photo Collection. The negatives were donated to the Norman County Historical and Genealogical Society by Dave Johnson, who obtained the negatives when he purchased the photography business from Arne Aalgaard. Many of the photos will be on display during next week’s Pioneer Days at the Norman County Fairgrounds or people can search their online index and have them printed out if they find a friend or family member, according to Historical Society Director Solveig Kitchell.
You can view the index of the Aalgaard Photo Collection online by visiting www.normanhgs.org and clicking on the Genealogy link.
The Norman County Historical Society will have a Pioneer Food Court featuring Dumpling, homemade soups, Romegrat, lefsa, and more next Saturday, September 10th as part of Fun in the Flatlands. The Pioneer Village will also be open all day.
