ND Trooper Injured In Crash
FARGO, ND—A North Dakota State Trooper was injured in an accident Wednesday morning on Interstate 29 in Fargo. The North Dakota Highway Patrol says the unnamed trooper was running traffic control for a tow truck that was removing a vehicle from the median on southbound I-29 just before 7am, when the marked Highway Patrol vehicle was struck from behind by an SUV driven by 31-year-old Stephane Kayee of Fargo…pushing the trooper’s vehicle into the second lane of traffic. The trooper, whose name has not been released, was taken to a local hospital with minor injuries. Kayee wasn’t injured, but has been charged with failure to yield to an emergency vehicle and driving without insurance.
The North Dakota Highway Patrol reminds drivers to slow down when roads are snow covered and icy….and also that North Dakota has a move over law for emergency vehicles like police, fire, ambulances and tow trucks.
