Neurology specialist Dr. Katie Callenius joins Essentia Health St. Joseph’s-Brainerd Clinic  

The Essentia Health St. Joseph’s-Brainerd Clinic is proud to welcome Dr. Katie Callenius, a doctor of osteopathic medicine specializing in neurology. 

“I was really drawn to the atmosphere at Essentia,” said Dr. Callenius. “All of the staff I have interacted with have been pleasant and helpful, and it makes me eager to join an organization with such wonderful people.”   

Dr. Callenius earned her medical degree from Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine in Pennsylvania and completed her neurology residency at the nearby University of Pittsburgh Medical Center Hamot.  

“Having experienced the loss of someone close to me due to stroke, I believe I have a unique perspective to help my patients,” said Dr. Callenius. “I know how devastating and life-changing that can be. I try to listen to patients and show them that they are not alone, because it is not easy to go through such an ordeal.”
