New Judge Appointed In Leiting vs Fertile Trial

Here’s an update to a story R&J News has been following.  A new judge has been appointed to hear Angie Leiting’s lawsuit against the City of Fertile.  Judge Jeffrey Remick was originally assigned the case in Polk County Court.  But in papers filed this week, Remick recused himself. Judge Corey Harbott was assigned the case, but then Harbott recused himself.  The case was then assigned to Judge Anne Rasmusson.  She will preside over the first scheduled hearing in the case on February 23.

Leiting is suing the City of Fertile over her departure as administrator of the Fair Meadow Nursing Home last June. The City of Fertile owns Fair Meadow.
