Norman County East School Board News & Notes from February 15th Meeting
Twin Valley, MN — The Norman County East School Board held their regular monthly meeting on Tuesday night, February 15th. At the meeting, the board approved a new 3-year Superintendent contract with Rob Nudell, as well as an agreement to continue sharing that contract with the Battle Lake School District. Superintendent Nudell says he’s excited to have a new contract and looks forward to continuing working with both districts.
Also under staffing, the Norman County East School Board accepted the retirements of Elementary Teacher Sherrie Nogowski and Business Manager Terri Sirjord. Nudell says with their combined 80 years of experience, they will be dearly missed.
It was announced at this week’s meeting that thanks to $110,000 grant acquired by their tech coordinator, the district will be able acquire new Chromebooks for all students.
And the district is beginning to make plans with anticipation that there could be between 5 and 12 English Language Learners in the district next fall when the Waukon Dairy becomes operational.
The Norman County East School Board also accepted the resignation of paraprofessional Kelsey Lisburg, approved an amended 2022-2023 school calendar, and approved a PA system upgrade.
