Twin Valley, MN — The Norman County East School Board held their regular monthly meeting on Monday night, November 21st. At the meeting the school board approved hiring Brad Dunham as the new varsity girls basketball coach, but there was some discussion from the board about the importance of standing behind their coaches after the previous coach, Nick Hanson, resigned at last month’s meeting, just a handful of weeks before the start of the upcoming basketball season. Norman County East Superintendent Rob Nudell reiterated that statement and reminded parents of the process that needs to be followed when there are concerns about coaching.

There was also some discussion this week about bringing back open gym. It’s been a few years since it was offered and Superintendent Nudell says they’re going to gauge more interest from the community and see if they can get someone to staff it.

And the district accepted more than $4,000 in donations in support of their recent musical and a partnership with K & K Towing for snow removal. Nudell commends the community for their great support.

The Norman County East School Board also approved a change to the school calendar. There will be school on December 22nd and there will not be school on January 2nd, unlike previously posted.
