Norman County Opioid Money

ADA, MN—$410,000.  That’s Norman County’s share of a settlement between state attorneys general and opioid manufacturers and pharmaceutical distributors. The County will get that $410,000 over the next 18 years.  Kim Myers with Norman Mahnomen Public Health says community members were surveyed about what the priorities should be.

Now that public health officials know what Norman County residents want, Myers and the Public Health Department are looking for requests for proposals on how to use those funds.

Myers says the deadline to submit an RFP is July 16th.  She also points out that the $410,000 will not be delivered in equal amounts over the 18 year period…and that Norman County has already received over one hundred thousand dollars.  Myers says Mahnomen County will receive its own amount of opioid settlement dollars and the County will take its own community survey on how to use those dollars.
