Norman County Salvation Army Backpack Program is Back and Looking for Donations
Norman County, MN: The Norman County Salvation Army is happy to announce the Salvation Army Backpack Program is back and looking to the community for assistance in donating new backpacks for all school ages.
“In the past, we have been able to purchase backpacks through the Salvation Army, however the backpacks are identical and identifiable, especially in our small communities. Our hope is for families requesting school supplies to remain unidentified for both the family and children attending our schools.” said Aimee, chairperson, Norman County Salvation Army Service Unit.
“We are so grateful for our partners and individuals in our communities who continue to support this mission, and because of this, we are able to help the youth in our communities be happy and excited on the first day of school with a new backpack and supplies.”
Norman County Salvation Army has partnered with community businesses for drop off sites for the new backpacks. If you would like to make a difference in a local child’s life by donating a backpack, you can drop them off at:
- American Federal Bank – Ada
- Frandsen Bank – Ada
- Norman-Mahnomen Public Health Office – Ada
- United Valley Bank – Twin Valley
- Valley Hardware – Halstad
- Norman County Raceway – Ada
Please note, to request a backpack for a child, registration is required. Applications can be picked up at Norman-Mahnomen Public Health or Norman County Social Services. Forms can also be emailed or mailed.
