Norman County Salvation Army Taking Donations for Backpack Drive

Ada, MN — The Norman County Salvation Army is currently accepting donations of new backpacks for their annual Backpack Drive, as well as taking applications for youth in need of new backpacks and school supplies ahead of the school year. Aimee Eggen with the Norman County Salvation Army says they already have all the school supplies they need, but they do need donations of new backpacks, specifically ones that your child would be excited to wear to school.

Donations can be dropped off through the end of the month at American Federal Bank (Ada), Frandsen Bank (Ada), Norman-Mahnomen Public Health (Ada) United Valley Bank (Twin Valley), Valley Hardware (Halstad), and Norman County Raceway (Ada).

To request a backpack, you can stop by either the Norman-Mahnomen Public Health or Norman County Social Services offices. Eggen says those who would qualify for any sort of income-based assistance will automatically qualify for the backpack program as well.
