Norman County Sheriff’s Pursuit Ends With Arrest
NORMAN COUNTY, MN — On Friday October 24, 2025 at 11:50am, the Norman County Sheriff’s Office received a report of suspicious activity within the city of Gary, MN. It was reported that the subject, an adult male, was last seen traveling west from the Gary General Store. It was reported the male was driving a newer, black Chevy Blazer.
About an hour later, at approximately 12:50pm , while investigating the suspicious activity, a Norman County deputy located a vehicle matching the description near Heiberg, north of Twin Valley, MN.
The deputy activated his emergency lights and performed a traffic stop at the intersection of State Highway 32 and 370th Street. The driver, identified as 49 year old Damon Roy Anderson, stopped for the deputy. During the stop, Anderson provided the deputy with a driver’s license belonging to another individual. As the deputy continued to investigate this incident, Anderson fled the traffic stop, leading deputies on a pursuit throughout Norman County and in to Clay County; eventually ending south of Hitterdal, MN after a successful deployment of Stop-Sticks.
Anderson was taken in to custody by the Norman County Sheriff’s Office and transported to the Northwest Regional Corrections Center in Crookston. It was confirmed that Anderson had felony warrants from 10 different counties throughout the state of Minnesota. Anderson also faces additional charges in Norman County for Felon in Possession of Firearm, Felony Possession of a Controlled Substance and Fleeing a Peace Officer in a motor vehicle.
The Norman County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the White Earth Police Department, Clay County Sheriff’s Office, Minnesota State Patrol, and the Ada Police Department.
