North Dakota Mr. & Miss Basketball Finalists Announced

Four players have been selected as North Dakota Mr. & Miss Basketball Finalists on Monday.

Walker Braaten from Westhope-Newburg and Mason Klabo from Fargo Davies are the two finalists for Mr. Basketball.

Haidyn Crockett from Northern Cass and Jaiden Haile from West Fargo Horace are the two finalists for Miss Basketball.

Braaten was able to help the Sioux to their second straight state title appearance in Division B. Westhope-Newburg lost to Bishop Ryan in the championship game this season. Braaten is the second all-time leading scorer in North Dakota basketball and was named Division B Senior Athlete of the Year. Braaten is attending North Dakota State University for football.

Klabo guided Fargo Davies to the Division AA boys basketball title game at the Fargodome. Fargo Davies would finish runner up to Bismarck Century. Klabo is the all-time leading scorer in Class A/Division AA boys basketball in North Dakota and was named Division AA Senior Athlete of the Year. Klabo is heading to Illinois State for basketball.

Crockett became the all-time scoring leader in Northern Cass history, surpassing her older sister Halle in the postseason. Haidyn will join her sister at the University of Jamestown for collegiate basketball. Crockett was named Division A Senior Athlete of the Year. Northern Cass saw their season come to a close in a state qualifier against Thompson.

Haile helped West Fargo Horace to their first girls basketball state title earlier this month at the Fargodome. Horace beat Bismarck Century for the championship in the Hawks third year of a varsity program. Haile was named the Division AA girls basketball Senior Athlete of the Year and will be attending Gonzaga for basketball.

Winners will be announced on Friday at 4 p.m.
