Northern Pines and Essentia Health offering suicide prevention and Naloxone training
Crow Wing Energized is pleased to share that Northern Pines Mental Health is offering safeTALK and Naloxone/Narcan training on January 18 from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at the Bay Lake Retreat Center in Deerwood. There is no cost to attend this workshop. safeTALK is designed for anyone in a helping role. The steps learned in safeTALK have helped participants from all walks of life be alert to situations where suicidal thoughts may be present. Participants will gain increased knowledge about suicide; confidence to talk about suicide and related issues; and improved ability to intervene with someone at risk.
With the increase in fentanyl in communities across the country, including Crow Wing County, each month record number of Americans are dying of drug overdoses. This is an opportunity for businesses and organizations to be prepared to save the life of someone experiencing an overdose. The Steve Rummler Hope Networks offers in-person training and is able to provide complementary Naloxone/Narcan to anyone who has completed the training.
Lunch will be served. Weather permitting, self-care activities – snowshoeing, bonfire, and networking will also be available.
Please share this important training with your family, friends, faith community, and colleagues at work. This training is free, but registration is required.
