One Dead, One Injured In I-29 Crash Near Thompson

One woman is dead and a man seriously injured after a wrong-way crash on I-29 about 2.5 miles north of Thompson Monday afternoon.  The North Dakota Highway Patrol says an 83-year-old woman from Aneta, North Dakota was driving south in the northbound lane of I-29 shortly after 1pm Monday…..when her SUV collided with a pickup truck driven by a 42-year-old man from Grand Forks.  The woman was pronounced dead at the scene; while the man was taken by ambulance to a Grand Forks hospital with serious injuries.  No names have been released at this time.  The northbound lanes of I-29 were closed for about two hours while the scene was investigated and then cleared.  The North Dakota Highway Patrol continues to investigate this accident.
