Over 10″ Snow On Ground Rare In April
Snow on the ground in April isn’t unusual in our neck of the woods. But the amount of snow on the ground is another matter. Daryl Ritchison, director of NDAWN–the North Dakota Agricultural Weather Network–says having ten inches of snow on the ground in Fargo is indeed rare.
All of this snow is eventually going to melt. And when it does, Ritchison says that will mean flooding.
When that will be is hard to say. Ritchison says it will take several days of above average temperatures to melt the snow….and temperatures that high aren’t in the forecast for the next few days.
