Pioneer Food Court Highlights Pioneer Days at the Norman County Fairgrounds Coliseum
Ada, MN — The Norman County Historical and Genealogical Society invite the community to their annual Pioneer Days during this weekend’s Fun in the Flatlands at the Norman County Fairgrounds. Enjoy some old timey food, browse the museum and prairie village, and even take home some history. One of the fan favorites every year is the Pioneer Food Court, which will run from 11am until 2pm in the Coliseum building. Solveig Kitchell of the Norman County Historical Society says visitors can pick and choose from a variety of delicious, home cooked, pioneer style delicacies such as romegrot, lefsa, dumplings, soups, desserts, and more all made by local volunteers.
Preparing the food for the Pioneer Food Court is always very labor intensive, but this year it’s also very expensive. Despite inflated input costs, Kitchell says they aren’t raising the prices on their end.
Along with the tables of food, the Norman County Historical Society will also have a donation table set up again with various items that people can take home with them for a donation.
The Prairie Village and Museum will also be open during the day on Saturday during Pioneers Days and will be staffed by volunteers.
