Polk County Sets Preliminary Levy; Tax Info Now Available Via Electronic Delivery
Crookston, MN — The Polk County Board of Commissioners set their preliminary 2023 tax levy at the end of September with a proposed increase of 5.5%. The proposed levy increase comes after two-days of budget meetings with the department heads. Polk County Commissioner Joan Lee, who joined the KKCQ Food for Thought Program, says navigating and trimming the various department budgets into a reasonable amount can be a challenging process.
A truth-in taxation public hearing is set for December 13th at 6pm and the final levy will likely be approved on December 20th.
Also, Polk County residents can now get all their tax information, including statements and more, via electronic delivery, according to Commissioner Lee.
