Polk County Sheriff Encourages Boaters to Keep Up with Safety As Summer Winds Down

Fosston, MN — We’re getting down to the final few weeks of summer and while everyone is trying to take advantage of the nice weather while they can, the Polk County Sheriff’s Office says now is not the time to skip on safety. Sheriff Jim Tadman says when out on the lake, be mindful of others and continue to follow the rules as they will continue to have a presence on the water and roadways.

Sheriff Tadman also asks boaters to not skimp on efforts to keep aquatic invasive species at bay. He says they continue to be an issue in a few area lakes and reminds them to please clean and drain their boats to avoid contaminating other lakes.

Sheriff Jim Tadman also shared information on ATV and Golf Cart use on area township roads while on the KKCQ Food for Though Program. Listen back to that full interview below:
