Quilts For Veterans Drive Begins Thursday
The American Red Cross is once again sponsoring its Quilts For Veterans Program. Starting Thursday through November, you can donate a quilt to a drop off location at any Gate City Bank location. The Red Cross will distribute the quilts to VA hospitals, homes and stand down events across the area. A donated quilt must be new or made with new materials, preferably 60 inches by 80 inches with neutral or patriotic themes. The quilts must be sturdy enough to go through industrial washing and sterilizing process. Cass County Veterans Service Officer Chris Deery says “These quilts are more than a gift—they are a way of showing our veterans that their service is remembered and appreciated. We are grateful to everyone who takes the time to make and donate these quilts for our veterans.”
