Rainy River Wraps Up First Round of MCAC games

The Voyageurs Men’s Basketball team was at home last night against MN North-Itasca where Rainy River would have complete control in a 85-52 win. Braedon Gomez scored 25, shooting 11-of-18 to lead the team. Rodney Mozard would get a double-double with 17 rebounds and 18 points in the game. Srdan Vujnovic would score 11 off the bench. Jaymar Previl, recently returning from the injured list, put up 8 points and a perfect 4-4 shooting. The Voyageurs are 12-7 overall on the season and 5-1 in conference with the second place spot in the North Division.

The Voyageurs will once again play Itasca on Saturday with this game being at the Itasca campus with a 5pm tip-off.

For the week of January 20-26th, Minnesota North College – Rainy River power forward Rodney Mozard earned the MCAC North Division Men’s Basketball Athlete-of-the-Week award. Mozard scored 36 points and pulled down 33 rebounds in 71 minutes of court time. He added five assists, three steals, and two blocks to his stat line and shot 54.2% from the field to help the Voyageurs pick up another conference win.
