Reese and Cote advance to Polk County District One Commissioner Election

Five contestants were vying for two spots in the Polk County Commissioner District 1 special election on Tuesday, May 9th. Paul Reese and Michelle Cote were the two top vote-getters in the primary election and now advance to the special election to be held on Tuesday, August 8th. The voter turnout was low with 28 percent of the registered voters in the District voting. Here are the results from the primary election held on Tuesday:

Paul Reese-341 votes (36.63percent)

Michelle Cote -294 votes (31.58 percent)

Marlow Jacobson-186 votes (19.98 percent)

Kristie Jerde-73 votes (7.84 percent)

Travis Johnson-37 votes (3.97 percent)
