Rep. Gander On Safe Schools Bill

Here’s an update to a story R&J News told you Wednesday.  A bill that would address school safety, House File 3493, failed to advance in the House Education Finance Committee on Tuesday.  State Representative Steve Gander of East Grand Forks, who serves on that committee, says the bill would not have provided protection for non-public schools and he gives a recent example of something that the bill could have prevented.

Gander says the bill remains in committee awaiting further discussion.  He says the school safety bill could come back as part of a reconciliation bill with the State Senate.
