Riverwood Healthcare PA Matthew Felming talks VELYS for Hip Replacement Surgery

(Aitkin, MN) — In past conversations with Riverwood Healthcare on the use of VELYS Robotic Assistant for the use of knee replacement surgeries, we turned our attention to how hip replacements surgeries have benefited from this new piece of technology.

We spoke to Physician Assistant Matthew Fleming from the Minnesota Center for Orthopedics at Riverwood about the past 5 years with the VELYS and how it has helped in better hip replacement surgery. 

Fleming noted two big benefits of using the VELYS compared to past surgical practices.

Patients have also spoken of vastly better experiences in surgery.

Another key part for the recovery for patients is rest and no physical therapy.

The VELYS system will also be an integral part of hip replacement surgeries in the future with the increases in the aging population.
