Safe Kids Grand Forks promoting summer safety practices
Summer break is here, and one activity many kids, and teens like to partake in is swimming. However, swimming can be a deadly activity, if the appropriate rules, and safety practices are not followed. Carma Hansen of Safe Kids Grand Forks says it’s important for parents to make sure they are supervising, and teaching their kids safe swimming practices.
Lots of older kids are left alone during the day throughout summer break, and Hansen says it’s also important for parents to establish expectations for their children, and make sure they have the skillset to fend for themselves.
Finally, Hansen spoke on the importance of children not playing in the streets, and following the traffic laws, when doing things like riding their bike.
