School Referendums To Be Decided Tuesday

There are two school referendums on the ballot Tuesday.  The Fisher School District is asking voters to approve a change in the operating levy per pupil….raising it from $161 per student to $1432 per pupil for the next ten years.  Fisher School officials say if the referendum is approved, there would be an additional $300,000 per year to go toward student programming, retaining staff and creating long-term financial stability.

Meanwhile, in Lake Park-Audubon, there’s a referendum to raise the school district’s operating levy to bring in an additional $450,000 per year for ten years.  Lake Park-Audubon school officials say the increase is needed to retain staff.

Polls are open until 8 this evening in Lake Park-Audubon and Fisher.
