Snowmobile injury in Cass County
LAKE SHORE — A snowmobile driven by a 26-year-old Maryville, WI man crashed during the Nisswa 100 Snowmobile Race in Cass County Sunday. The man was reportedly seriously injured.
The call to emergency services went out around 1:50pm. The Cass County Sheriff’s Office responded to the crash on Jacobs Road in Lake Shore. According to the report, the crash occurred on the race course. A number of emergency personnel, who were at the event, immediately initiated medical aid.
The man was transported by helicopter to a Twin Cities area hospital with a serious injury.
The sheriff’s office said the incident is under investigation, and the identity of the racer was withheld Monday pending family notification.
