Spring Fire Danger increases

Mahnomen, MN – With the dry conditions, low humidity and windy weather we have had this week, many area fire departments have been called out to assist in controlling ditch and brush fires and open fires in area fields.  Last night, the Mahnomen fire department and area departments were called out to the old Drive-In Theater location on Highway 59 South of Mahnomen for a structure fire on the current property. According to the Mahnomen Fire Department’s Facebook page, the area agencies who also responded included Waubun fire, Twin lakes fire, Ogema fire, White Aarth fire, Ada fire, Winger fire, Twin Valley fire, and Elbow Lake/Tulaby fire departments lent their support. Thanks to the Mahnomen ambulance crews that were on scene as well as the state patrol, Mahnomen County Sheriffs Office and White Earth Police Department for assisting with traffic control and helping keep everyone safe.
