Steps Against Stigma in Fort
The week of October 6th-12th is Mental Health Awareness week, and the Canadian Mental Health Association plans on holding a community walk hosted by its Fort Frances Branch. The walk will take place on October 8th, and we got to speak with Jalena Hay of the CMHA about the Steps Against Stigma.
And CMHA has been doing this stigma walk for almost a decade.
She was then asked how people can get involved.
What’s the biggest goal of the Steps Against Stigma event? What even is the stigma?
Jalena even shares some of the statistics surrounding the stigma of mental health and who is affected.
So how long has she been with CMHA Fort Frances?
Another serious issue with mental illness isn’t just the illness itself, but the lack of chance the mental illness will be discussed.
Jalena, along with the rest of CMHA Fort Frances, would absolutely love to see others show up to support Steps Against Stigma on October 8th.
