STOP THE BLEED During National EMS Week
Fertile, MN — This week is National EMS week, which honors the contributions of the first responders who work on the medical front line. The theme of this year’s EMS Week is Rising to the Challenge. You can rise to the challenge and help your family, friends, and neighbors by taking the “National Stop the Bleed” challenge. Chad Braun, Chief of Operations for County EMS based out of Fertile, says that a bleeding injury can happen anywhere and instead of being a witness, you can become an immediate responder because you know how to STOP THE BLEED.
Braun encourages folks to take the interactive STOP THE BLEED online course at www.stopthebleed.org and then stop by their open house this Saturday in Fertile for additional hands-on validation of skills.
Whether you’re taking part in the STOP THE BLEED challenge or not, everyone is welcome to attend the County EMS Open House, which runs from 11-2 this Saturday at 308 North Mill St in Fertile. Refreshments will be provided.
County Emergency Medical Services provides advanced life support ambulance services in southern Polk and northern Norman and Mahnomen counties. Based in Fertile, Minnesota, County Emergency Medical Services is Minnesota’s first rural-based advanced life support ambulance service.
