Sugar policy update 

For the first time in eight years the passage of a new farm bill seems imminent after a new bill passed in the House earlier this week. While not guaranteed to pass in the Senate, Harrison Weber of the Red River Valley Sugarbeet Growers Association says its exciting to see progress, and he highlights some provisions in the bill that will impact sugar. 

As for other sugar policy in Washington DC, Weber says they recently had representation testifying in DC in regards to a recent 301 investigation. 

Weber says out of quota sugar is what they are focused on when it comes to the 301.
