Test Your Chocolate Creations at Polk County Fair Chocolate Contest
Fertile, MN — Attention bakers! You have less than a week to prepare of the annual Chocolate Contest at the Polk County Fair! The chocolate contest returns to the Hanson Memorial Free Stage on Wednesday, July 6th. The contest is open to both kids and adults and the rules for both are quite simple. Organizer Zina Ivanov says it must be made from scratch and it must contain a minimum of ¼ cup of chocolate.
Contestants are welcome to bring any type of chocolate dish they desire but are only allowed one entry per person. Ivanov says entries vary from cookies to pies and everything in between.
Entries will need to be submitted to the Hanson Memorial Free Stage by 7pm for judging. This year’s judges include local members of law enforcement. While the judging takes place, Ivanov says they will keep the crowd busy with games and entertainment.
There is no cost to enter a dish and cash prizes will be awarded to the top adults and kids. Payout for the top 3 for adults is $75, $50, and $40 and for the kids its $25, $20, and $15.
