Thursday Mid-Day Flooding Outlook

Flood warnings remain in effect for the listening area until further notice.  This includes the Red River at Halstad, the Wild Rice River at Hendrum, the Marsh River at Shelly and Norman County.

Here are the latest river reports as of around 9 this morning from the National Weather Service:

The Red River at Halstad stands at 31.5 feet…with flood stage 26 feet.  The Red is expected to peak at 36 feet on Tuesday.

The Wild Rice River at Hendrum is at 27.4 feet…with flood stage at 20 feet.  The Wild Rice is expected to crest Tuesday at 31 feet.

Over in Hillsboro, the Goose River is at 12.6 feet…over two feet above flood stage.  The Goose is expected to crest at 14 feet Friday afternoon.

The Marsh River near Shelly continues to recede..it’s down to 14.9 feet…with flood stage at 14 feet.  The Marsh is expected to get below flood stage Friday morning.

Norman County Emergency Manager Garry Johanson was on KRBJ’s Kaleidoscope program this morning and talked about the county’s preparedness effort.
