Today is Minnesota School Bus Driver Appreciation Day
Ada, MN — Today is Minnesota’s sixth annual School Bus Driver Appreciation Day, which is a day where the Minnesota School Drivers Association shines a light on how school bus drivers continue to go above and beyond their usual duties to support students, schools and communities. Additionally, this event seeks to spark public appreciation for school bus drivers, increase awareness for the unique challenges our industry is facing and prompt people to consider school bus driving as a profession.
Ada-Borup-West Transportation Direction Shawn Roux says of all the challenges they face, the weather and navigating the Minnesota roads is perhaps the most unique.
Bus drivers have the important responsibility of getting your kids to and from school safely and after school activities. Roux says its not just a job, it’s a community service.
The Ada-Borup-West School is always looking for substitute bus drivers to help fill in on routes or transport students to activities. Roux adds that the kids are much more well behaved than you might imagine.
Make sure to tell your school bus drivers thank you today as part of Minnesota School Bus Driver Appreciation Day!
