Todd County Corn & Soybean Growers Association Donates Shoes to Frontline Workers at Lakewood Health System
Staples, MN – September 2, 2022 — On Wednesday, August 1st, 25 pairs of Skecher shoes were donated to frontline workers at Lakewood Health System, courtesy of the Todd County Corn & Soybean Growers Association. These Skecher’s are made with rubber technology that includes a special polymer containing sustainable soybean oil, as part of a collaboration with The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company.
The Todd County Corn & Soybean Growers Association Board voted to use funds from their checkoff dollars to purchase pairs of these special shoes to give to frontline workers at designated healthcare facilities within their county. It is estimated that thanks to the generosity of the 44 county boards across Minnesota, 3,000 pairs of shoes have been donated as part of the Minnesota Soybean Research & Promotion Council’s “Stepping Up” campaign.
