Twin Valley City Council News & Notes from February 13th Meeting
Twin Valley, MN — The Twin Valley City Council held their regular monthly meeting on Monday, February 13th at the Twin Valley Community Center. It was the first meeting for newly appointed Mayor Michael Bolton, who took over for Ben Fall following his resignation last month. Mayor Bolton says the new position will take some getting used to and he certainly has some big shoes to fill.
The Twin Valley City Council tabled the appointment of a new council member until next month.
The council did move forward with a proposed Poultry Ordinance. The ordinance, which mirrors other ordinances in the area and across the state. It would allow residents to have up to six chickens in a fenced area with a shelter, no roosters, and require them to purchase a license for a small fee. Mayor Bolton says there’s been a lot of interest in chickens with the price off eggs recently.
The ordinance will have its first reading next month.
And the council discussed a request from Lutheran Social Services to use the Community Center as a drop off site for their Senior Meals.
The Twin Valley City Council also approved a raffle permit for the trap team, a building permit for Verizon, and a donation to Post Prom.
