Two Injured In Five Vehicle Chain Reaction Accident

LAKE PARK, MN—Two people were injured in a five vehicle chain reaction accident Thursday afternoon in Lake Park. The Minnesota State Patrol says four vehicles were eastbound on Highway 10 around 12:30pm Thursday and another vehicle was westbound on Highway 10. A rear-end chain reaction crash occurred at the intersection of Highway 10 and 2nd Street. Two of th drivers, 86–year-old Deforest Abel Malstrom of Detroit Lakes and 35-year-old Randal Steven Doeden, were taken to the Detroit Lakes hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. One driver is suspected of using alcohol. No charges have been filed; the State Patrol is investigating the accident.
